ABC Challenge: J is for Jungle Queen

Hey everyone,

Sorry guys! I'm one day too late, I got some bad news this week and I've been bummed out since. Apparently, Sephora is going to close their boutiques here in the Netherlands, because they want to focus more on the International Market. WTH do they mean with that!? Sephora isnt a Dutch brand so being here in the Netherland IS international. So no more Urban Decay, Too Faced, Nails Inc. etc. :( It's hard because I wanted to buy the Halo Hues 2013 collection and some Zoya Pixie Dust polishes, but now they have to wait because I have to buy some new Urban Decay palletes before they're all gone! So these last few days I've been watching Les Misérables on loop and cried every single time when Anne Hathaway was singing, because I'm a Drama Queen and I'm proud of it.

But anyways, back to the post of today! Here is another ABC Challenge! For the letter J, I chose China Glaze - Jungle Queen. I specially picked this one out to support Becca from Nail Narcotics. She is trying to raise awareness on Epilepsy by posting purple mani's through the month of March. It's really wonderful what she's doing so go to her blog and send some love! I used 2 coats in the pictures below, and stamped with some random brandless plate. I got the plate at a beauty convention because there were a lot of cool designs on there, but the quality is so bad. The grooves are too shallow but I finally managed to figure out how to transfer the image on my nails. I wish I knew before because I would never buy it. Lesson learned.. stick to the brand image plates!

Be sure to check out all the other talented ladies!

  1. I love that pattern though! And it doesn't look like it stamped bad at all. Anyway, it might be a dupe for some designs in a branded plate? I might want that one!!
As for Sephora, I've heard the news yesterday on FB and it's SO weird!

  5. The pattern is gorge!! Aww I heart Becca and I'm so glad you've joined in on the purple fun!! I honestly had to giggle a little at your sadness over sephora closing in the Netherlands, not in a bad way, but in a "oh the problems of polishaholics" kinda way!! The things that we go through, hey? Lol!! I love les mis, it was so good! I've been wanting to go a second time but I can't convince the hubby to go!! Guess I'll have to wait until I can PVR it!!

  6. I read about the Sephora issue and I really don't understand their reasons. This is really, really weird.
Anyway... I also did a stamping for my letter J but I didn't post it because I used an holo polish for stamping and, of course, it's been raining since last week, so I didn't have the chance to take good pics.
Your final result is super nice, even if the stamping plate didn't work well! Great job! :)

  12. You'd never guess you had a problem with the stamping - looks great! I had my hand on Jungle Queen too this week, but changed my mind at the last minute. I really like this purple.

  13. Lariesa, if YOU say that the plate is a disaster, I'm staying FAR away. You know your stamping chit. Still, gotta say, it turned out beautiful.

    As for Sephora? WTF? :)

When I think of nail polish, I think of the Netherlands. Seriously, the best stuff comes out of the Netherlands. Are they nutz?

Someone should step in and fill the void.

  15. Jungle Queen looks beautiful!

I don't get it either. Sephora wants to be more international by closing their international stores? Confusing :((
